Evidence: Code of Ethics Violation Councilman Jack West, City of Trinidad California

Evidence: Code of Ethics Violation

Councilman Jack West, City of Trinidad, California

Councilmen are elected to represent all of us. They must, with full faith and fidelity, be honest and transparent and follow the law. Not manipulate law. Not circumvent law. Not obfuscate law. Not fabricate law through their attorneys and staff.

@ 1:50:55  Dr. Hoffman, County of Humboldt Health Officer: saying it’s not needed

Unnecessary. Already have a state advisory on travel in place. If ICU capacity goes down to less than 15%, State of California orders on travel restrictions and closures would kick in anyway.

So . . .

Yup, sorry City of Trinidad, 4 councilmen and staff don’t get to close travel or businesses by fabricating an urgency that doesn’t exist — 29% ICU beds available. They also don’t get to preempt state and county health orders and Constitutional law. This is going to look particularly bad, when allegations of their fraud are exposed.

In fact, the State of California and the County of Humboldt never once restricted our STRs, or any other lodging in our Region, for the holidays. No, they never restricted them during the entire unlawful 3 month term of the City’s STR moratorium “urgency” ordinance.

Do you know what extortion is?

Every resident should be saying: “That’s our money!” “This is over!” “We want every damn bit of evidence that the Council has to be made public. We want to hear what happened and why. We want to see how the Council wasted our money and hurt our businesses. We want to know everything before one more dime is spent for an attorney’s benefit.”

Requesting Future Agenda Item

Code of Ethics Violation, Councilman Jack West, City of Trinidad, California

I request the Council add an agenda item and publicly hear my formally filed allegations and review evidence at the next City of Trinidad Council Meeting as provided for in our City’s Code of Ethics.

Councilman Jack West voluntarily and knowingly mislead and obstructed the truth and this needs to be publicly investigated by this City council.[1]

Without reviewing any evidence, the City Manager corroborated Councilman Jack West’s misreporting and further said he doesn’t see it as a violation. With this now evident, pre-judicial bias, and his being the City council’s employee, we are fortunate the City manager doesn’t preside over charges of councilmen ethics violations. Appropriately, he should only present them to the Public and City council at the next meeting.
